3. Section 1 – Technical Fouls
Fouls of a less serious nature than personal fouls & do not include ejection fouls.
The penalty for a technical foul will be:
A 30 second time serving penalty if the team fouled had possession of the ball.
Awarding of the ball to the offended team if they were not in possession of the ball.

4. Section 2 – Crease Violations / Keeper Interference
With the defensive team in possession:
Any crease violation or keeper interference results in a slow-whistle, flag down, e.g.
An offensive player enters the crease, including the crease line.
An offensive player contacts the keeper while the keeper has the privileges of the crease. This could be a free clear.
With a loose ball:
Any crease violation results in a “play on” situation.
If the defense doesn’t gain possession, stop play and award the ball to the Goal Line Extended (GLE).
With the offensive team in possession:
Any crease violation results in an immediate whistle and a turnover of the ball to the GLE.

Section 3 – Holding
A player shall not impede the movement of an opponent or his crosse.
“crosse check hold”
Stepping on the crosse
Hold with the crosse.
Hold an opponent’s crosse with his crosse.
Hold with the free hand.
Hold the opponent’s crosse with his body.
Holding IS permitted when:
An opponent has the ball or is within 5 yards of the ball from the front or side. Holding the crosse with the crosse is okay.
An opponent holding the ball can be played with a “hold check” from the rear with equal pressure.

6. Section 4 – Illegal Offensive Screen
No offensive player shall move into and make contact with a defender to block him away from the man he is playing, including the use of his crosse. The offensive player MUST be stationary before contact occurs.

7. Section 5 – Illegal Procedure
An action that is not in conformity with the rules and regulations shall be termed “illegal procedure”. Examples are:
Touching the ball with the hands while in play (watch face-offs!)
Illegal actions with the crosse.
Illegal entry into the game.
Delay of game.
Too many players.
Too many long crosses (easier to count the short crosses).
Failure to advance or clear.

8. Section 6 – Conduct Fouls
Examples are:
Coach does not stay within the designated coaching area (talk to him first).
A player, coach, or someone officially connected with a team objects to a decision by an official by arguing or gesturing (talk to him first – agree with your partners on the process in the pre-game).

9. Section 7 - Interference
A player shall not interfere with the movement of another player except when:
That opponent has the ball.
The ball is in flight and within 5 yards.
Both players are within 5 yards of a loose ball.

Section 8 – Offside
Any violation of the offside rule. Training on Offsides will be with Rule 4 training in March.
Section 9 - Pushing
A player shall not thrust or shove an opponent from the rear. A push is defined as “exerting pressure after the contact however not a violent blow”. Beware of “out of bounds pushes”!
Pushing IS permitted from the front or side when an opponent has possession or is within 5 yards of a loose ball with either closed hand, shoulder or forearm, and both hands MUST be on the crosse.

Section 10 – Stalling
A team in possession may be warned to “keep it in” its attacking goal area. How are we communicating to our partners in advance of this call?
After the warning stalling shall be called if the ball leaves the goal area in any manner other than the result of a shot on goal or a touch by the defensive team. Communicate loudly and often! How do you handle a shot out of bounds given to the offense?
During the last two minutes of regulation play stalling rules are in effect for the team that is ahead.

Section 11 – Warding Off
A player in possession shall not use his free hand or arm or any other part of his body to hold, push, or control the crosse or the body of the defensive player applying a check.
The player MAY protect his crosse with his hand, arm, or other part of his body when his opponent attempts to check his crosse.

13. Section 12 – Withholding Ball from Play
When a ball is loose on the ground, a player will not lie on the ball, trap it with his crosse longer than necessary to control and pick it up with a continuous motion, or withhold the ball from play in any other manner. How do we manage face-offs?
A player may not otherwise deliberately withhold the ball from play.
Repeated violations of this nature shall be ruled unsportsmanlike.
