3 Henry VII War and glory were bad for business
Brought unity to the houses of York and Lancaster Increased England’s influence in Europe – made important alliances

4 Henry VII Arranged marriage between his son Arthur and the daughter of the king of Spain – Catherine of Aragon Arthur died – Henry VII secured Catherine to his other son Henry VIII Marriage between Margaret and James IV of Scotland Kept England out of European wars Accumulated an immense fortune

5 End of the Wars of the Roses
At Bosworth Field Henry VII (Lancastrian) defeated the royal army and was crowned king He married Edward IV’s daughter and with that, united the rival houses

6 The “Tudor” rose The unity of the 2 houses was symbolised by this red and white rose
