6. Maniac Magee Ch. 6-8
At the end of Chapter 8, there is an “unexpected turn” mentioned on page 29. Discuss with your group what this might be.
Each group will need to give Mrs. Walker one sheet with their answer, including evidence from the text to back up your prediction.
We will then go over the answers to the worksheet.

What makes Maniac a legend?
He is daring enough and talented enough to do things that other kids can’t or don’t. He runs on the steel rail of the railroad tracks. He hits ball after ball that McNab pitches, and he even hits homeruns. At the end of chapter seven, Maniac has knocked the world’s first frogball for a four-bagger. In chapter eight, a list is provided that shows Maniac as a legend. He punted the football back longer than Denehy had ever thrown it, he rescued Arnold Jones, and tattooed Giant John McNab’s fastball for a half a dozen home runs
