the NEW WINE TSUNAMI REACHES THE ENDS OF THE EARTH
Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch ACTS 8: 26-40
2
THE RAPID GROWTH OF THE CHURCH
Then he appointed twelve of them and called them his apostles. Mark 3:14 After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died. I Cor. 15:6 Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all. Acts 2: 41 Introduction: The expansion of the church, the sudden increase of the numbers of believers in the book of Acts Jesus Chooses the Twelve Apostles 13 Afterward Jesus went up on a mountain and called out the ones he wanted to go with him. And they came to him. 14 Then he appointed twelve of them and called them his apostles.[b] They were to accompany him, and he would send them out to preach, 15 giving them authority to cast out demons. 16 These are the twelve he chose: Simon (whom he named Peter),James and John (the sons of Zebedee, but Jesus nicknamed them “Sons of Thunder”[c]), Andrew,Philip,Bartholomew,Matthew,Thomas,James (son of Alphaeus),Thaddaeus,Simon (the zealot[d]),Judas Iscariot (who later betrayed him). More than 500 when Jesus appeared after his death I Cor 15:6 Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all. Acts 2: 41 47 all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved. Acts 2:47 So God’s message continued to spread. The number of believers greatly increased in Jerusalem, and many of the Jewish priests were converted, too. Acts 6: 7 is because of the power of the holy spirit, the signs and wonders ,the persecution, and the obedience of the disciples to the command of Jesus. The proclamation of the Gospel, as we call it the New wine reaches not only the Jews but the Samaritans, the Ethiopian , Gentiles which is for the Jews not acceptable at that moment. But when the Jews see the signs and wonders, the coming of the holy spirit even to gentiles they were convince that Salvation is for all mankind. Now as the New wine reaches the ends of the earth, crossing the boundaries, cross cultural , we will look into this morning a specific account of conversion of a very special person.

And many who had been paralyzed or lame were healed. 8 So there was great joy in that city. Acts 8:5-8 B. The purpose is to reach out the ends of the earth from Jerusalem-Judea-Samaria C. Preaching to group of people and now with individuals ( from Evangelistic rally to personal evangelism)

The power of the Holy spirit is at work in moving his disciples and touching people's lives.
The Holy Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and walk along beside the carriage.” Acts 8:29 One day as these men were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Appoint Barnabas and Saul for the special work to which I have called them.” Acts 13:2 II The power of the Holy spirit is at work in moving his disciples and touching people's lives. A. The Holy Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and walk along beside the carriage.” Acts 8:29 B. One day as these men were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Appoint Barnabas and Saul for the special work to which I have called them.” Acts 13:2 C. So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty." Zech 4:6 D. The Holy Spirit is working on the Eunuch’s life. And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. John 16:8 The Eunuch of Ethiopia is part of the ends of the earth a. the treasurer of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under the Candace, the queen of Ethiopia. b. The eunuch had gone to Jerusalem to worship, c. and he was now returning. Seated in his carriage, he was reading aloud from the book of the prophet Isaiah d. As they rode along, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “Look! There’s some water! Why can’t I be baptized?” 38 He ordered the carriage to stop, and they went down into the water, and Philip baptized him. What a marvelous place to begin to talk about Jesus! When the Spirit of God leads, how wonderfully everything opens up! He will take the things of Christ and make them clear. Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this scripture he told him the good news of Jesus. The Holy Spirit will use the Word of God. Philip seized the opportunity to present the good news about Jesus from Isaiah 53. He showed the eunuch that the passage he had been reading was a prophesy of Jesus.

The Message and the Messenger
The Message is about Jesus - The Eunuch is reading Isaiah 53 Jesus Christ the Nazarene, the man you crucified but whom God raised from the dead. For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, ‘The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.’ There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” ACTS 4: 10B-12 How can I, unless someone instructs me? III The Message and the Messenger A. The Message is about Jesus - The Eunuch is reading Isaiah a. and he was now returning. Seated in his carriage, he was reading aloud from the book of the prophet Isaiah. ( Isaiah 53) The passage of Scripture he had been reading was this: “He was led like a sheep to the slaughter. And as a lamb is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. 33 He was humiliated and received no justice. Who can speak of his descendants? For his life was taken from the earth.”[c] B. How can I, unless someone instructs me? C. he urged Philip to come up into the carriage and sit with him. D.The eunuch asked Philip, “Tell me, was the prophet talking about himself or someone else?” 35 So beginning with this same Scripture, Philip told him the Good News about Jesus. E. And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? Romans 10 :11-17 ROMANS 10: ESV 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard?[c] And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. Matthew 9:35-38English Standard Version (ESV) 35 And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few;38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Conclusion: The proclamation of the Gospel will continue until the Lord Jesus comes. We may not hear or witness people coming to Jesus in Jerusalem , in Judea , in Samaria but in Sudan (Ethiopia ) in to the ends of the earth people who trust in Jesus added to his church daily. The power of the holy spirit never change , His works also never change. The holy spirit will lead us ,guide is as share the glorious love of God through Jesus . We just need to seek and pray that He will prepare us and prepare a persons heart in knowing Jesus.
