Introduction to Music Production
At the end of this course participant will learn how to produce music on their computer systems at home. We find singers, instrumentalists and music lovers around us, try to compose/arrange Indian or western music. For passionate students, this course will fulfill the need to create music they want.

Tools & Building Home Studio
To start with, participant needs to have a workstation. This course will help to built your own home studio and develop an understanding about the gears/tools required for production. A computer system with a good configuration and some software will accomplish the requirement.

Theory & Practice Processes
A musician always has an idea to create his/her music. But with the idea comes a question, how can I do it without a complete band of musicians…? You will learn to understand the process of developing your ideas and practice them to make them sound in real world.

Basic Music Theory Everyone is not aware of music, but can be passionate for creating music. Before starting to create their own music, one should understand the basics of Music Theory.

Developing Melodies We listen to different kinds of songs and music tracks, which are remembered because of their melodies. These are developed by using techniques and art. You will learn to develop melodies you want which can make your audience hum it for a longer time.

Developing Arrangements
A song or a music track is just not about the melody. It is a combination of voice, different types of instruments, lyrics etc, playing together. Arranging these elements as per the melody or music composition is a task. You will learn to develop Music Arrangements which will lead to make your track sound complete.

Introduction to Synthesizers & Digital Vs. Analog
Different sounds in a track, is the key to make your track stand out. To develop such sounds one must have an understanding about the Synthesizer. A Synthesizer is an electronic musical instrument which helps you to create your own sound. In today’s world a synthesizer is also available digitally through software.

Introduction to MIDI The Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) is a technology which helps you to play music digitally though a computer which late can be stored. Learning this technology will help you to put your music on computer and by saving it you can use the different instruments like Synthesizers, for arranging.

Recording & Editing Acoustic Instruments & Sampling
A good music has good sounds which gives you a great listening experience. For such an experience, recording plays a very important role. Which, after critical editing can enhance the effect of the sound. And by further sampling can be used in various ways to make your music unique.

Process of Shaping the Sounds
Any sound recorded, sampled or synthesized can sound good, but after shaping it, one can enhance and make it distinctive in a track. You will learn the techniques to shape the sounds and give your track your identity.

Developing Beats Beats are the time dependent units which can create emotional waves within humans. Learning to create good beats with different time signatures, will make a listener to get involved with the track regardless of genre.

Structuring a Song Structure of a song is an important factor which can get the audience hung. Structuring a Song well, can help you to involve your audience by giving them different experience in various parts of your music.

Ideas to develop Background Scores & Jingles
Music Production is just not about making songs or music track. It can be expanded to various kinds of music. You will learn to develop the ideas to create a Background Score for a visual or to wrap your ideas within seconds by creating Jingles.

Mixing Tracks Mixing is an art to blend number of tracks so that they can be heard as a single piece of music. Using various techniques like balancing, equalizing, you will learn to blend different sounds, melodies, beats etc. with each other which will help you to fix the “MIX”.

Mastering the Mix A well mixed track can give your audience a musical experience but a Mastered track gives them the ability to experience it on every device. This will help you to develop an understanding of how your track should sound at last.

Case Studies A study of tracks done by some great artists will be conducted to develop the listening and make it critical.

Project II Participants will have to develop two music projects. (Min. 3 tracks in each) *Completion of one Music project is compulsory
