2 Summary In the story, The Tale of Despereaux, we meet Despereaux, Princess Pea, and the King. He is brave, active, and has big ears. He shows his friends he’s valiant by talking to a person. His people find out so he has to go to the dungeon with a red rope on his neck. He finds a rat in the dungeon, will the rat eat him or will he live? Will he survive in the dungeon or starve? Read to find out!

3 Character Traits The Roscuro is clumsy because he fell in the Queens soup. Pea is wonderful because she didn’t hurt me. The king was upset because the Queen died.
