Fig 3 An example of a pair of records. One record was re-synthesized from a handwritten record and the other from data that were captured automatically. The top panel shows a handwritten record, in a format similar to that presented online, with a summary of the interventions by one anaesthetist. The lower panel shows the corresponding electronic record, with interventions by the same anaesthetist. At presentation, there was no indication as to whether a record was handwritten or electronic.
