3 PROCEDURES

4 Entering Your Class Period
Homework will be turned in on the back table at the beginning of every period. You are required to be in your seat to be considered present when the bell rings. A warm up will be posted and needed to be completed in your INB (composition book) within the given timeframe. These will be graded and will be kept in the classroom.

5 "History is an echo of the past in the future." -Victor Hugo
Current Events: "History is an echo of the past in the future." -Victor Hugo A current event will be due three weeks. If you are absent on a Friday, it must be turned in the following Monday. If you know you will be absent, it is best to bring it the day before. You do not need to bring in the article, but it must be an event from the week. The assignment will be a short summary explaining Who it involves, Why it's important, What caused it, When it happened, and Where it took place. Opinion will be well thought out.

6 Grading Policy 40% of overall grades will be taken from daily grades
60% of overall grades will be from three major assignments. Written Project Exam 40% 60%

7 If you lost your assignment you can create a handwritten copy for use.
Absences & Late Work If you lost your assignment you can create a handwritten copy for use. Late daily grades: 1 day = 30 pts off 2 days = no credit Late major grades: 1 day = 15 pts off 2 days = 30 pts off 3 days = no credit *Extensions to be discussed PRIOR to due date It is school policy that any absent work must be made up within 2 days of the absence. Look in crate on the back table that is divided by days of the month Search for the date that you were absent Complete work and turn it into me directly.

8 Daily Assignments + Hard Copy Notes
Daily work + PowerPoints are in the students google classroom for them to review and complete. No Name Work: Must be turned in to me directly and will not lose points for late days. Major grades will also be posted there, but a notice will go out via the school website when these are assigned. Those with accommodations for notes: the students know they are kept on the corner of my desk and they may take a copy only after they’ve attempted the work. This is how High School will run and this is the best time for them to get in the habit and to practice that responsibility.

9 Textbooks My students are the only ones with individual books and are expected to take care of them. They are to remain in their locker or taken home when they are needed as supplemental material (but brought back). Currently, there is no way to access the textbook electronically.

10 Exit Procedures Stay in your seat until I dismiss you, not the bell.
See me if you have any questions or concerns about lessons or assignments.
