1 AO4 Evaluation

2 In this final section you need to look back on your campaign and consider how successful it was (or wasn’t!). The more depth and detail the higher the mark.

3 Consider each stage of the campaign:
For example: Planning Venue Resources (from elsewhere or designed yourself) Methods of delivery Activities Feedback materials

4 And discuss the strengths and weaknesses:
What went well, and why? What evidence do you have for thinking this? Could it be further improved? How? What didn’t go so well, why not? How do you know? What could you do next time to avoid/prevent the problem? And improve the outcome? Do make sure that the improvements you suggest are appropriate and realistic and match the weaknesses you have identified.

5 Explain the possible Short Term effects of your campaign on the target group:
Describe what could happen as a result of your campaign and then explain using ‘because ...’

6 Explain the possible Long Term effects of your campaign on the target group:
Describe what could happen as a result of your campaign and then ‘because ...’

7 Include the aims and objectives:
Do you think they have been met? Why? Why not? Base your opinion on the evidence of: Audience attention/understanding ( e.g. from your observation and Q&A) Audience participation in activities (e.g. Wordsearch, physical activities) Audience feedback sheets on their knowledge ( e.g. Quiz questions) What improvements to the campaign could you suggest based on this evidence?

8 You need to analyse and evaluate the feedback you obtained from your target group and the witness statement: Take each question separately, look at the responses. Use simple bar charts/pie charts to show the results ( don’t bother to do this with 100% responses) For open questions read and come to a conclusion using typical quotes (you don’t have to copy out all the answers as the sheets will be in a separate appendix section at the back)

9 What does the feedback tell you about the effectiveness of your campaign?
For example: If you have achieved your aims and objectives. If your campaign was well prepared, resourced and delivered at the right level for your audience. In addition: Are there any improvements you could make based on what your audience has told you?

10 Finally Do make sure that you come to clear, reasoned and detailed conclusions, based on all the evidence you have included in this section.
