1. The Maidu Tribe

2. Location
The Maidu lived in the northern part of California. They live near what is now Sacramento. In the summer they have hot weather.

3. Shelter
The Maidu made their shelter out of branches, leaves, and wood. For a roof they cut branches to support the roof. In the warm weather they made their shelter open.

4. Food
They fished for fish, salmon, trout, eels, and sharks. They hunted for deer, birds, and elk. They gathered insects, acorns, nuts, and berries.

5. Culture
They made very detailed baskets. They also made purses, hats, bows, and shallow trays. They hunted for materials to build the items.
