Table Elements Adobe Acrobat DC Accessibility – Data Tables Ensure data tables are formatted using table elements: <Table>, <TR>, <TH> and <TD> tags Non-structural methods are incapable of portraying the structural relationships between tables headers and data along the columns and rows Data tables must be formatted utilizing PDF tag elements that are similar to HTML data table structural markup. This refers to the HTML elements: Table TR = table row TH = table header TD = table data Non-structural methods are incapable of portraying the structural relationships between tables headers and data along the columns and rows Parent <Table> tag Child <TR> tag (Table Row) <TR> tag has either a child <TH> tag (Table Header for column or rows) or <TD> tag (Table Data) THead and TBody can be used to denote sections of the table levelaccess.com | (800) |

Adobe Acrobat DC Accessibility – Data Tables Ensure data table headers are associated with data cells Assign a unique ID to each header cell Assign an associated header cell ID to the data cell Provide scope of row or column to the header cells Header Cells Activate the TouchUp Reading Order Tool Select an element in the table Choose Table Editor Right click on one of the table cells and select Table Cell Properties Select Header Cell Identify Scope (row, column, or both) Identify row or column span Create a unique ID for the header cell Data Cells With Table Editor selected, right click on the data cell that corresponds with the previously selected header cell in the table Select Table Cell Properties In the associated header cells section, select the plus sign levelaccess.com | (800) |
