1 Peter 5:1-4
My observations in the boxes
vs1 The elders which are among you
I exhort,
who am also an elder,
and a witness of the sufferings of Christ,
and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
 vs2 Feed the flock of God which is among you,
taking the oversight thereof,
not by constraint,
but willingly;
not for filthy lucre,
but of a ready mind;
vs3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage,
but being examples to the flock.
vs4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU
I also am an elder - mature
keep your eyes open (seeing like I see what Christ has done)
(I trust Christ) and will receive rewards also
(to you mature who - hear, see and believe)
Feed by teaching the body of Christ
(here is how you are to lead and teach)
Taking the oversight - lead –over the flock
Not like slave owners (not forcibly)
(voluntarily) because they want you to
not because your paid to
alert, taught in scripture, educated, experienced, eager, enthused
not because your older or dictators
show them how to evangelize, teach, show mercy, give, love, forgive, restore, etc
When God is at the judgment seat
Rewards will be given , one of your rewards is a crown of glory
Rewards are eternal, they won’t fade away
Are you an elder?
Do you hear his calling to be a leader?
Are you ready to feed the flock?
Can you lead without constraints? Pay?
Have you learned his word to teach it?
Are you the example you need to be?

be subject one to another,
and be clothed with humility:
vs6 Humble yourselves
therefore under the mighty hand of God,
vs7 Casting all your care upon him;
vs8 Be sober,
be vigilant;
because your adversary the devil,
as a roaring lion,
walketh about,
seeking whom he may devour:
Newer Christians not necessarily age younger
TO EVERYONE - all elders and younger
SUBMIT TO ONE ANOTHER
for God resisteth the proud, and
giveth grace to the humble.
that he may exalt you in due time
for he careth for you.
