Diary Update and notices
Blewbury Endowed C of E Primary School Diary Update and notices W/C 11th March Dear Parents/Guardians I'm sure you would all like to join me in extending a huge thank you to Mrs Grace Slater (Headteacher of Radley Primary School) who has spent the last few weeks here at Blewbury supporting us whilst Ms Mills has been away from school. She has thoroughly enjoyed working alongside all the dedicated staff and wonderful children and would like to share this message with our school community. It has been a privilege to work with you, your children and the school over the past two weeks. I would like to express my thanks for the warm welcome I have received from you as parents, and from the whole school community. I am very pleased to be remaining in contact with you over the coming months as I continue to support the leadership of the school, and I wish the school well as it continues on its journey. All best wishes, Grace Slater, Headteacher, Radley CE Primary School VIAM- Voice In A Million A huge thank you to Mrs Wilmott for organising an amazing trip to Wembley Stadium on Wednesday night accompanied by 25 of our fantastic key stage two children. The children performed a number of Songs (‘This is me’ from the greatest showman, ‘All of Me’ by John Legend and ‘What about us’ by P!nk, to name just a few) along with thousands of other school children from around the country. VIAM (Voice in a million) is a charity event organised to raise funds for adoption UK by getting children singing, dancing and having fun together. The atmosphere was stunning, the dance moves were amazing and Blewbury School children, as always, did themselves proud! Thank you again to Mrs Wilmott for organising this adventure and to Mrs Kokkuhannanidge and Miss Brittany White for coming along to support. OFSTED It’s now been over two weeks since we were visited by OFSTED. Thank you to all of you who sent in good wishes and supportive messages during the inspection- Blewbury is such a supportive school community and a privilege to work within. We have not yet received the report for factual checking and after that, it takes a further couple of weeks for the report to be published. Thank you for your patience and we will share the findings with you as soon as we receive them. Year 6 junior citizens. Each year, our Year 6 children have the unique opportunity to visit Rewley Road Fire Station in Oxford to learn about personal health and safety. They take part in a variety of ‘real life’ scenarios to support them in learning about internet safety, citizenship, fire safety, and personal safety. This is such a valuable trip which supports our comprehensive PSHCE programme. Personal safety is hugely important and we are dedicated, as a school, to ensuring all children know how to keep themselves safe. Poetry Recital Competition Well done to all the year 5 children who took part in a poetry recital few weeks ago. Mrs Galbraith was so impressed with them all, and the judges who visited school agreed that they were all very articulate and confident. Overall the judges decided that Sophia Butterfield and Jacob Troskie had excelled, and invited them to perform at the final stage of the competition in the civic hall on Wednesday 6th March. Mrs Galbraith went to watch and was extremely proud of both of them, who represented the school with such confidence and enthusiasm. Well done Sophia and Jacob! Have a relaxing weekend and we hope to see lots of you this evening at the PTA games night. Warm wishes, Becky Costello

The PTA has already raised £3,000 but still have a funding gap of around £2,000.
