1 Cloud Optimized Processing for Hydrographic Data
The Geopoint Project Cloud Optimized Processing for Hydrographic Data Proof of Concept…a demonstration in principle, whose purpose is to verify that some concept or theory has the potential of being used.

2 Project Goals Develop a bathy data processing API that utilizes scalable cloud computing resources. Generate a CUBE surface from that data. Compare results to the corresponding NOAA bag file.

Current practice in building software is to make everything modular, which has the effect of reducing dependencies and allowing a much more robust testing environment. There is an entire field of expertise devoted to this process, so I won’t go into detail, but the diagram shows how we compartmentalize the primary functions, then create tool sets related to each function. Further down we have the actual design elements, each performing a specific task or output.
