10 YOUR Graduation Program
A three year program Courses = Credits Recommended 88 credits Provincial Literacy Assessment Provincial Numeracy Assessment Career Exploration Volunteer/Work Experience In 2004, the Ministry of Education changed the Graduation Program. Some of the more substantial changes include… A three year program (grades 10, 11 and 12) Provincial Exams in Grades 10, 11 and 12 Planning and Portfolio

11 Graduation Requirements
Grade 11 Language Arts Social Studies Mathematics Science Planning 10 Electives aimed towards Focus Area Grade 10 English Social Studies Mathematics Science PE or Dance 12 credits of electives Grade 12 Language Arts At least 4 Grade 12 Courses Graduation Transitions Electives aimed towards Focus Area Grade 11 must have a full time schedule

12 Three Year Rule Students in our School District now have 3 years from the time they enter Grade 10 to complete graduation requirements in their District Secondary School.

18 ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
If you have to miss a class a parent/guardian must phone the attendance line If you arrive late or leave early, you must sign in and out at the office If you will be away for a long period of time, please your teachers and contact the office Students are expected to be in class on time and prepared to learn. If they are not they can be withdrawn from a course

20 MBSS PARKING

21 Where can you park? Grade 12’s with a Pass can park in the student stalls in the lot near the gym or along the fence by the tennis courts. The current “Visitor Stalls” wil be changed to Grade 12 parking. Grade 11’s and 12’s without a Parking Pass can park in the gravel lot. Students can park along the curbs were it is allowed. In the back of the school ONLY if your car is scheduled to be taken into a mechanics class. with a special parking pass.

22 Where can’t you park? In the staff/ visitor parking in the front of the school. In the Visitor stalls Against the fence across from the staff parking in front of the school. (new visitor) In the staff parking behind the school.

24 CODE OF CONDUCT OPEN CAMPUS REMEMBER
MBSS has an open campus, which means you may leave school grounds at lunchtime and return for afternoon classes REMEMBER More freedom is a privilege Help each other keep this privilege Be responsible

25 CODE OF CONDUCT Cell Phones Usage
Cell phone and I-pods should not be used during class time unless teachers have given you permission as a part of the lesson plan
