IRRS and the European Union
EC-IAEA Agreement ENER/11/NUCL/SI on “Cooperation in the Field of Nuclear Safety – IRRS in the EU” for the implementation of the Council Directive on Nuclear Safety in which one of the main objectives is to “Analyse and share emerging issues, trends and challenges from IRRS missions” Accordingly IRRS missions to EU countries have some specific attention (expert pool, national coordinator, requirement on team composition, c.f. below) Analysis of past missions and extension of guidance are expected in the framework of the agreement The present Training Course is also part of the Agreement activities Basic IRRS Training - History and Background
