Roster Tools and Authoring Tools are vendor tools. They don’t both need to come from the same vendor, though that is the likely scenario.
These tools create the XML. The user profile includes information about what needs the student has, and possibly their specific setting preferences. Content tags may have additional information for that user.
The Testing Interface now knows what the user needs, and how they want their tools set. If needed, additional information is supplied within the Content XML.
Best case scenario? Vendors competing with each other to create the best, most accessible student user interface. 3
