Tor Raubenheimer January 16, 2019

2 Sample Synoptic Table

3 Synoptic Table Two main issues: Agree to the MC allocations
Arrange specific sessions to best avoid conflicts

4 Past IPAC Abstract Submissions versus MC

5 Description of Classification

7 Submission of Suggestions for Invited Talks
Proposed abstracts for invited talks at NAPAC’19 do not follow past distributions. In particular, MC06 was very low. % Planned % Suggested MC1 4 4 MC MC MC4 4 5 MC5 5 5 MC MC MC Is this reflective or an anomaly?

8 Reallocating sessions
Blocks of 1.5 hrs and 2 hrs  could sub-divide blocks but …. Only four 1.5 hr blocks – early AM session

9 Sample Synoptic Table

10 Session Allocation Want people interested in topics not to be too torn between two sessions. Challenging. Suggestions please! Suggest MC1 / MC7 one day and then MC2 / MC7 another and similarly MC2 / MC3 and then MC3 / MC4 Other issue is choice of 1.5 hr slots that are adjacent to Tutorials. Do not want either session to detract from the other. Presently: 2xMC5 / Tut, MC6 / Tut, and MC8 / Tut

11 Plenary Sessions 1.5 hour opening plenary session and 2 hour closing session Opening session will start late allowing for people to arrive 30 minute welcome and description of NAPAC’19 and welcome from the host institution is really only 20 min. Two more 30 minute plenary talks help define the context of the mtg Engaging talks on new acc. science or exciting new opportunities EIC and/or FRIB might be opportunities Closing session has three 30 minute slots: Focus on interesting – why are we here (meaning NAPAC) Some ideas: Cosmic accelerators; Development of medical isotopes What comes next or what motivates a younger crowd
