2. What is Affirmative Action?
Policies used by universities and in the business world that grant quotas (a minimum number) for minority students/employees. So, a school that has an all white population may have a quota of 5% non-white students.

3. Why is this controversial?
When there is a choice between an equally qualified white and minority applicant, the minority would be given preference in order to meet a quota.
