What is a “Livable Community”?
A “Livable Community” is a place where all residents can live and participate in their community, no matter their age, health, socio-economic status, or level of ability; where citizens can grow up and grow old with maximum independence, safety, health, and well-being. A livable community is one that has affordable and appropriate housing, supportive community features and services, and adequate mobility options, which together facilitate personal independence and the engagement of residents in civic and social life.
