Evaluation of drought-tolerant corn hybrids on alluvial and loessial soils in northeast louisiana SCC-33 National Crop Variety Testing Group Key Largo, FL – February 3-5, 2019 Rick Mascagni - Northeast Research Station

2 objectives 1) Determine the yield performance of DT corn hybrids compared to standard commercial hybrids under different soil moisture regimes on alluvial and loessial soils in northeast Louisiana. 2) Determine the influence of plant population on yield performance of selected DT corn hybrids.

14 Summary Preliminary grain yield data suggest that DT hybrids may be adapted in north Louisiana. DT hybrids performed well under both non-irrigated and irrigated conditions. More DT hybrids will be evaluated in 2019, including lines from Dr. Xu at Texas A&M. More information is needed under different soil moisture regimes.
