3. Gameplay
Now this game doesn't have a campaign but it makes up for that with its multiplayer. The only practical way to utilize the multiplayer is over the internet i.e. xbox live. Without it, you won't get very much out of counterstrike

4. Online Gameplay
The online play includes 18 maps and the choice to play as either a terrorist or a counter-terrorist. As a counter-terrorist it's your objective to either kill all of the terrorists, rescue the hostages, or diffuse the bomb. The terrorists' objective is to kill the counter-terrorists or defend the bomb.

5. Even More Gameplay
There are multiple rounds that make up one match. Each round starts off with a small amount of time and some cash to choose weapons, armor, grenades and you gain more cash the more rounds you win and the victor is determined by the most rounds won.

6. Online Community
Another online aspect that makes this game worthy of canonization is the community surrounding it. It's one of the largest of any online game. There are tournaments set up by the community to play against other teams. The counter-strike community is one of the best.

The CS community of mod creators and script writers have developed a vast amount of amazing mods that have placed the CS series as one of the big names in mod gaming.
