Candy Ratios Sam has candy kisses and marshmallows in the ratio 2:3. Sam has 18 candy kisses. How many fewer candy kisses does he have then marshmallows? Find a solution to this problem. Be sure to use a representation that you can use to defend your solution! Maria: I like the question asking about the comparison of fewer jellybeans, and not just how many candy bars does Sam have – makes it a multistep problem. In addition, easy numbers to use, with the unit ratio of 1 candy kiss to 1.5 marshmallows, or, 1 marshmallow to 2/3 candy kiss.
