Vocabulary Update Push factors: The conditions and perceptions that help a migrant decide to leave a place. These are very clear to the migrant. Pull factors: The conditions and perceptions that attract a migrant to a place. Often, the perceptions are vague and mostly positive. Voluntary migration: Occurs after a migrant weighs options, and makes a choice to migrate. Forced migration: An authority or power produces an involuntary movement. The migrant does not make a choice to move.

(remittances) -political freedom - equality -civil rights -protection -safety -health - protection and safety - shelter - tolerance and acceptance - family -reunification.
