3 VESSELS USED FOR MASS CHALICE SET-UP
To prepare the chalice for Mass you need the following items: Corporal Chalice Purificator Paten Large Host Pall Sometimes a Chalice Veil – (which is not shown in this presentation

4 CORPORAL Is a small cloth, it has a red cross in the middle. It is folded & when open it is approximately a 20 inches square, upon which the Body and Blood of Jesus rest upon. It is placed in the center of the altar. Corporal – before you put the corporal on the altar, it will be folded. You can identify it by the red cross in the middle Corporal is the small cloth, about 20” square, upon which the sacramental species rest during the Mass.

7 PURIFICATOR The purificator is a small linen cloth used during the Mass to dry and clean the chalice. It is usually twelve to eighteen inches long. 10 PATEN Paten is circular dish either gold or silver. It is used in the Mass to hold the host and to gather up particles of the broken host from the surface of the corporal. 11 At the Consecration the bread becomes Jesus under the

15 CHALICE VEIL Chalice veil is a cloth made of the same material and color of the priest vestments. It is used to cover the chalice when it is carried to or from the altar.
