1 USING PASCAL’S PRINCIPLE
The Formula of Force Pressure = Force / Area F P A

2 Pascal’s Principle A change in pressure at any point in an enclosed fluid will be transmitted equally to all parts of that fluid.

3 Here’s How It Works 5N 2N 2 cm2 5 cm2 2N of force to each 2 cm2
P = F/A P= 5N/5cm2 P= 1 pa 5N 2N 2 cm2 5 cm2 P = F/A P= 2N/2cm2 P= 1 pa 2N of force to each 2 cm2

4 Let’s Give It A Try ? PRESSURE DOESN’T CHANGE!!!! P = F/A P = 2/2.5 2N
P = 0.8 pa ? 2N 5.2cm2 2.5 cm2 P = 0.8 pa F = P x A PRESSURE DOESN’T CHANGE!!!! F = 0.8 x 5.2 F = 4.2 N

5 Devices that use liquids to transmit pressure from one point to another are called hydraulic devices. Ex: brakes in car, earth movers Brainpop on hydraulics

6 LET’S SEE HOW IT WORKS!
