4. Feedback: Watch Casual Vocabulary
Your use of language is improving, but please strike the following terms from your writing:

Instead:
“Thing”

5. Feedback: Contractions
Avoid contractions like “can’t,” “it’s,” and “won’t.”
Exception: If the contraction is in a quotation that you’re citing, there’s no need to change it. You should not, however, including contractions in your own writing.

Plays, novels, and movies are always typed in italics. (If you handwrite the essay, you’ll acknowledge them by underlining them.)
Poems and speeches are always placed within quotation marks (“”).
