This chart shows Penn State’s appropriations for the past 14 years. The bars with the red tops indicate the years in which, subsequent to the initial appropriation, the state rescinded some percentage as part of adjusting the state’s finances when tax and other revenues came in under the initially budgeted amounts. Notice the initial amount for of $334.8 million and the amount of $306.4 million as the next slide shows the effect of inflation across that time period.
