This session employs cognitive research on learning, as described in the text How People Learn. The highlights of this theory are provided in your handout for your later perusal. Now we’ll have a brief discussion about how to foster student learning and then we’ll hear from Todd about his strategies in the classroom. To close, we’ll invite your questions. So, how do we foster student learning? As professors, we’ve spent years developing expertise in our disciplines. How do we share that expertise with our students in effective and interesting ways?
