1. Type all of your sources information into Citation Machine/Easy Bib and create a citation

2. Copy and paste your citation into a works cited page (this should be the last page of your essay)

3. Make sure your paper is double spaced and create a hanging indention
Place your cursor at the beginning of the SECOND line of your citation In my example, it would be the line that starts with “Times” Right click your mouse Select “Paragraph” from the resulting pop up menu Under “Indentation”, use the “Special” pull-down menu to select “Hanging”

4. As you add more sources, make sure they are listed in alphabetical order

5. When you use a source in your paper, you will put the word or words first listed in your source. This should be the author’s last name.

6. This will go in parenthesis after your quoted, or paraphrased material.
Quoted: An expert in the field mentioned, “No one liked the British. They totally sucked.” (Isaac). Paraphrased: It was widely known that no one wanted to be around the British because they sucked more than anyone else (Isaac).
