Multiplication Find 39 x 6 Mental Strategies without a calculator
Find 30 x 6 and 9 x 6 then add two answers together 30 x 6 = 180, x 6= 54, = 234

Simplifying Fractions
We can sometimes simplify a fraction by finding a highest common factor (a number that fits exactly in and is the highest out them all) = = Γ·3 Γ·5 Γ·5 Γ·3
8
Rounding ( to the nearest whole number) 350 ( to the nearest ten) 300 (to the nearest hundred) ( to 2 decimal places) (to 3 decimal places) When rounding to 2 decimal places if the 3rd number after the decimal point is 5 or above you round up to the next number. If it is below 5 you keep the 2nd number after the decimal point the same!

Adding and Subtracting Integers
Integers just means positive and negative numbers!
11
Adding and Subtracting Integers
3 β = Adding a negative is 4 + (-9) = the same as subtracting! -7 β = -15 -2 + (-12) = -14 -5 β (-25) = 20 Subtracting a negative is (-8) β (-9) = 1 the same as adding!

Multiplying and Dividing Fractions
(-3) x Same signs = positive answer 54 Γ· β9 (-4) x (-8) (-12) Γ· β2 - 5 x (25 β 30) Different signs = negative answer ((-8) x 6) Γ·3 = -21 = -6 = 32 = 6 = 25 = 16

Time Intervals When working out time difference we will use the Counting on Method. This method will always work Example Find the time difference between hrs and 11 10hrs. Answer 2 hours + 20 mins + 10 mins = 2 hours and 30 mins Nearest hour Hours Whatβs left 20 mins hours mins 8 40 Original time 09 00 11 00 11 10
