Approach to reporting of PoMs of MSFD, in link with WFD
Avoiding duplication of reporting and assessment between MSFD and WFD Same approach as WFD reporting on PoMs Focus on use of Key Types of Measures (KTMs) and indicators (= MSFD targets) KTMs relate directly to the problems (pressures) which need to be reduced Builds upon WFD reporting WFD measures which also contribute to MSFD are reported under WFD WFD reports amended to allow links to MSFD reports On the approach to reporting of the PoM under MSFD, in link with WFD : The main aim is to avoid any duplication of reporting and assessment between MSFD and WFD. So for MSFD, The same approach as WFD reporting has been used. There is a focus on the use of Key Type of Measures and indicators, for measure that contributes to the GES of marine waters or to the MSFD targets. KTM relates directly to the pressures, which need to be reduced. The reporting of MSFD PoM has been built upon WFD reporting : so WFD measures, which also contribute to the GES of marine waters or to the MSFD targets are reported under WFD. The WFD reports has been amended to allow links to MSFD reports. European Commission DG Environment Unit C.2 Marine Environment and Water Industry
