Sub-fields in Anthropology
Social/Cultural Biological/Physical Linguistic Archaeology Study of cultures and societies around the world. Ethnography Ethnology Study of human or primate evolution and/or biology Paleoanthropology Primatology Forensic Study of human language Study of human societies through their material remains. Applied can be a sub-field of anthropology as well – it is basically any anthropologist that is trying to solve real world problems. Anyone working under one of the above sub-categories can also be an Applied Anthropologist.

According to the US Bureau of Labor and Statistics Employment of anthropologists and archaeologists is expected to grow 4% by 2024. Median pay for an anthropologist was $62,280 in 2017 ($30/hour) – US$ Typically requires a Masters Degree
