Fig. 1 Synthetic preimplantation factor (sPIF) protects against toxicity of embryo toxic serum (ETS). Mouse embryos were cultured with 5% ETS and 0.78μg/ml sPIF, which increased blastocyst formation rate while reducing significantly atretic embryos as compared with ETS-only treated embryos (chi-squared=12.74, P<0.002). Fig. 2 High-dose exogenous synthetic preimplantation factor (sPIF) does not affect embryos cultured under optimal conditions. Embryos were cultured with 3.12μg/ml sPIF up to the blastocyst stage. Blastocyst rate of formation was slightly better than controls. Results are composite of two independent experiments.
