5. COLLEGE-ALL SHAPES AND SIZES
Technical Colleges (or community colleges or two-year colleges in other states):
16 in the state of SC. Locally: Tri-County Technical College and Greenville Tech
Quick Jobs Programs and Certificate programs (Certificate programs short in duration)
Applied Associate Degrees (Two-year degrees leading to employment)
University Transfer (Two-Year degrees designed to transfer to four-year colleges).
Bridge Programs (one year invitation only, residential programs)

6. FOUR-YEAR COLLEGES
Private: In state or out of state-Tuition costs are the same (Anderson U, Duke University, Boston College)
Public: In state less expensive ( Examples: Clemson, USC, Coastal Carolina) Out of state add additional fee (Examples: Penn. St. U., the U. of Alabama)
Necessary for advanced degree programs (Master’s and Doctorate programs) and many professional programs.

Clemson University: $27,500 (tuition, fees, room and board)

College: Merit scholarships are typically based on a combination of SAT/ACT scores and rank in class. Each college has different criteria.

 Federal Government: Based on income and assets of the student and custodial parent(s). Complete FAFSA after Oct. 1st of the senior year.
