PRETON PRESENTATION PRINT COST SAVING (PCS) TECHNOLOGY PRETON - PRINT AND SAVE February 2006

AGENDA Preton Company Background The Printing Cost Structure Printing Environmental Impact Preton Overview – The Leading PCS Technology Pretons ROI and Business Model Getting started with Preton Summary and Q&A

Headquartered in Israel Offices in Israel and NY Patent pending technology Founded by 4 technology visionaries with over 40 years combined software experience Selected as Gartners Cool Vendor for 2006 Company Vision – To Reduce The Global Printing Consumables Expenses By 30% On Average. COMPANY BACKGROUND

CUSTOMERS Selected customers and prospects: 37% savings Audit Trail 40% savings 42% savings 45% savings 44% savings 38% savings 35% savings 30% savings 39% savings 32% savings

THE COST OF OFFICE PRINTING Printing costs a lot of money, the Gartner Group estimates that: –Expenditure on consumables is increasing annually- 20%-40% –Printing costs 1%-3% of corporate revenues (maybe more) Employee per printer ratio is dropping Graphic-intensive applications are expediting consumables usage Consumables cost per employee estimated at hundreds of dollars per year with almost no real control mechanisms TONER/INK MARKET IS ABOUT $30 BILLION PER YEAR

THE COST OF TONER/INK If we look at an organization of 1000 average users, the toner/ink yearly costs would be: Low levelHigh Level Annual print volume per employee: 12,00020,000 Average toner cost per monochrome page 2.8 ct*5.4 ct** Annual toner spending per employee $336$1,080 1000 employees annual toner spending: $336,000$1,080,000 * 5% Page coverage ** Around 10% page coverage

COST OF OFFICE PRINTING – WHAT CAN BE DONE? Customers need to: 1.Find ways to save money on consumables 2.Find a way to monitor print activity and resource utilization 3. Develop ways to control actual corporate print policies

PRINTING ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT Printing is 2 nd largest source of pollution in the US, surpassed only by pollution of cars. The production of 1 ton of paper consumes the same amount of energy as one ton of steel. 30% of all trees logged in the US are indented for the paper industry. An efficient manufacturer of paper can produce 3 sheets of the size of A4 from 1 liter of water. B&W toner contains at least 6 different substances that are listed as hazardous and toxic, especially polluting the water supplies. Toner is actually pure poison.

Customers realize that: 1.Printings environmental impact is more severe than we realize and is growing with time. 2. By printing less and by reducing the consumables usage we can make a big environmental difference (a change of only 5%-10% will mean a big environmental difference). PRINTING ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

INTRODUCING PCS TECHNOLOGY Print Cost Saving (PCS) Technology. PCS is a revolutionary technology that monitors every aspect of your print cost structure and spending. It offers control over the output fleet, every single print job, every user activity and optimizes the usage of toner/ink. By implementing PCS technology and its methodology corporations could experience savings of up to 50%

PRETON – THE LEADING PCS SOLUTION Preton is the only solution available today that offers a complete PCS methodology: 1.Toner/Ink optimization resulting in 25%-45% reduction of actual usage with no noticeable quality difference. 2.Complete print audit trail of every print job of every user. 3.Centralized corporate policy enforcement capabilities up to the single user/printer.

Optimizes the usage of toner/ink Track every print job carried out (complete print audit trail). Printing policy enforcement control Seamlessly integrates into all Windows environments (win98 and up) Compatible with all major printer vendors Does not require print server architecture Supports local and network printers Supports Inkjet and LaserJet Printers PretonSaver TM FEATURES

PRETON ROI MODEL Demonstrable ROI (35%) Preton saves on average 35% of corporate annual consumables spending Estimated savings of $100-$350 per employee per year In most cases ROI will be under one year Additional Potential ROI (~15%-30%) Output fleet analysis and optimization Print compliance and policy enforcement

PRETON – GETTING STARTED Define ROI model and plan POC Download Preton from FTP site Launch POC: –Phase one, measuring savings – printing with and without PretonSaver (2 hours) –Phase two, technical evaluation – running PretonSaver on 10 desktops (2 weeks)

PRETON EMPIRIC SAVING RESULT - LASERJET Toner saving test – duration 2 hours: Weigh cartridge before usage – record result in grams Print 200 test pages without PretonSaver TM Weigh cartridge after first print – record result in grams Print 200 test pages with PretonSaver TM Weigh cartridge after second print – record result in grams Calculate saving – typically 25%-50%

PRETON EMPIRIC SAVING RESULT - INKJET Ink saving test – duration about 4 hours: Put first new ink cartridge in printer and print test page without PretonSaver TM until ink runs out. Count number of pages Put second new ink cartridge in printer and print test page with PretonSaver TM until ink runs out. Count number of pages Calculate saving – typically 35%-55%

SUMMARY AND Q&A Preton can save up to 50% of your toner/ink spending Reduce the overall consumables spending No competitive alternatives / Patented technology Proven and measurable ROI Easy to get started with Customer driven development roadmap
