11 Freshman Year The school day is from 8 am to 3 pm A 7 o’clock class is only available if Marching Band is taken. 9th grade students will take: 1. English 2. Math 3. Science 4. P.E. 5. Elective 6. Elective

12 Core Courses Unless you are currently taking special education or EL classes, students will be placed into regular English, math, and biology tomorrow. There are Honors English, AP Biology, and honors math courses. Honors English: Complete Enriched English or have A grades in 8th grade English. There is an appeal form. AP Biology: Please talk to your counselor tomorrow and request an AP Biology application Honors Algebra/Honors Geometry: Honors math classes will be determined by the math placement test at the end of the school year.

13 PE and SPORTS All students will be placed in a PE class.
If a student is interested in a sport, they should participate in the summer camps. Summer sport forms are available at Sierra Vista. Tryouts for teams will be the first week of school. Placement on a team will not occur until after that first week of school. Your schedule will change.

14 ELECTIVES! Students will be able to request two electives.
Each elective is one year long. Exceptions: Health College and Career Seminar Exploring Health Science Careers If you completed an interest list at the Jamboree, that does not mean you are enrolled in a class.

16 AP and Honors courses may have summer assignments.

17 What is A-G? The A-G requirements are the minimum course requirements that a student must complete to be eligible to apply to a 4 year college in California after graduation.

How to complete your registration form: 1. Write your name and address. 2. Read about classes in the curriculum guide. 3. List the four electives you would like to request. The one you want the most should be first.

22 Registration Dates: We will be registering you TOMORROW! Please come with: Your completed Registration Form Your “SHARE” form, if you have something you would like to share with your counselor.
