2
Objectives To find out which glue has better strength under certain situations To find out the effects of temperature with glue
3
Procedures Set up the stand and clamp' Attache 1 wooden block to each stand ad clamp Apply glue to the side of each block and add 1 block between them Let it dry for 1 minute When stable and dry the apply weight 1 by 1 Until the wood breaks apart and list the time
4
Apparatus & materials 4 types of Glue 30 Wooden blocks
2 Stand and clamps
5
Method to collect evidence
We took a photo and videos for evidence.
6
Results of the experiment
Kind of glue Breaking point Heated Non-heated(5 minutes) Glue stick 1800g 200g/100g/100g Gorilla stick 1100g 100g/100g/100g Instant glue 1800+g Elmer's glue 1200g 1100g/1000g/1000g
7
Possible errors during experiment
The adjustment of the stands and clamps may not be exactly The layers of glue applied each side may not be equal due to clamps & stands. Temperates can afect the glue to stick Amount of glue will not be the same
8
Improvements and solutions for the errors
Use tools such as a leveling tool to accurately level the clamps
9
Conclusion Heating the glue causes a dramatic effects.
