Define Neologism A Neologism is a newly coined term, word or phrase, that may be in the process of entering common use, but has not yet been accepted into mainstream language. Neologisms are often directly attributable to a specific person, publication, period, or event. All will understand the term Neologism

Neologisms Neologisms are often created by combining existing words or by giving words new and unique suffixes or prefixes. Neologisms also can be created through abbreviation or acronym, by intentionally rhyming with existing words or simply through playing with sounds. All will understand the term Neologism

Think, Pair, Share, Square
Read the BBC article. Now, work in pairs to annotate, picking out as many positive / negative points on the impact of the internet on language as you can. Now turn round and add to your notes with the people behind. Most will acquire knowledge of the way in which the internet has changed the English Language.
