The Metric System How is the metric system broken down?
2) What is the relationship between the prefixes? 1) Prefix (shows you the size of what you’re measuring) Base unit (shows you WHAT you are measuring) EX) milli-meter = 1/1000 the base unit for length centi-gram = 1/100 the base unit for mass Hectaliter = 100 times the base unit for volume 2) K H D b d c m Your base is 1.
