3. What happened in NY during the Revolutionary War?
New York was one of the thirteen British colonies that fought the Revolutionary War. The Revolutionary War was against Great Britain. The Revolutionary war is known as the American War of Independence. About one-third of the engagements were fought on New York soil. After eight years of fighting, the poor colonies won. The colonies became the United States of America. The colonies had the Revolutionary War because the colonies didn’t like paying taxes.
