Personal Fitness Quest (PFQ) Program Sharing
Presented By: Stephanie Kaiser (DASC) Anne Murphy (WMAS)

Presentation Overview
We were asked to discuss the personal fitness quest programs with you today as both of our locations run this program in different ways. This program has been successful in improving IFA and individual appointment numbers throughout the year. We will discuss the structure of the programs at DASC and WMAS. We will open up for questions at the end of the presentation.

DASC Personal Fitness Quest
Program Goals To give members the tools that they need to establish an exercise routine that they can safely and confidently complete on their own based on their needs and capabilities. Added accountability and an opportunity for us to establish a personal relationship during the first few months of membership to avoid new member drop-off. Program Enrollment and Eligibility We specifically target new members and try our best to schedule them for their first session with us during orientation. All members are allowed to participate in this program one time per calendar year but new members have priority. Enrollment happens on an ongoing basis and scheduled at earliest availability that matches schedules. Our max capacity is around 50 program participants at any given point in time split between two fulltime staff. We do not do much promotion around this program as word of mouth is our biggest driver.

DASC Personal Fitness Quest
Program Format Program Outcomes Initial goal setting and IFA Eight one-on-one coaching sessions Post-IFA and goal setting Generally program duration is weeks although we make exceptions depending on what the person may need. Ongoing follow-up sessions are scheduled and encouraged to update exercise plans and continued IFAs for those interested. 222 members enrolled with a 65% completion rate in 2016. New members who complete the program visit the Wellness Center two times more frequently during first six- months of membership. Majority see improvements in fitness measurements on IFA.

WMAS Personal Fitness Quest
Program Goals To build relationships and success stories between the NIFS staff and our members To increase visits, IFAs, and training appointments To establish goals and training programs and have the members commit to working out three days/week for eight weeks Program Enrollment and Eligibility This is a rolling program for us. We offer sign-ups about every 10 weeks. All members are allowed to participate in this program. They must sit out at least one session before signing up a second time, but new members have priority. We have 2 ½ NIFS staff on site, so we take anywhere from participants each session. We promote this program in our Newsletter and Monthly , but word of mouth and “return customers” are the best promotion for us! We have a set day and time that we put out the registration forms and it is first come, first served.

WMAS Personal Fitness Quest
Program Format Program Outcomes Week 1: IFA, goal setting, and signing commitment contract Weeks 2-7: six-one-on-one (or two- on-one) coaching sessions Week 8: Post-IFA and goal setting Program duration is eight weeks although we make exceptions depending on the member’s schedule and holidays. Ongoing follow-up sessions are scheduled and encouraged to update exercise plans and continue IFA’s for those interested. Each member signs a commitment contract to visit the Wellness Center a minimum of 3x/week during the training session, so we can count on 20 visits from each participant during the program. This program brings in 300 visits, 30 IFAs and 90 training appointments over the eight week session when we have a full 15 members sign-up. We usually see an improvement in at least two areas when comparing the pre- and post-IFA data. We try to keep a standing appointment on the same time and day each week for the duration of the program.
