2. What’s necessary to address a DBQ challenge
Read the question. Note two questions that your thesis must address:
What issues (benefits/challenges) are raised by Manchester’s growth, ?
What reactions to this growth do the documents reveal?
Read and analyze the documents; take notes on content, point of view. Qui bono?
Brainstorm thesis possibilities by using a graphic organizer. What patterns do you see? (Consider our lecturer’s organizational approach.)
Generate a thesis: Big picture versus supporting ideas/evidence.
Create an outline making sure that all documents have been address in context of ideas.
Write.
