Lesson 1.1.1 Warm Up Team Sort:
You have been handed a problem to solve by your teacher. Your answers to your specific problem will determine your team for the first chapter. Try to solve the problem by yourself in your notebook or paper and check with the teacher if your answer is correct.

Lesson 1.1.1 Lesson Objective: Students will practice the Order of
Operations and evaluating expressions as they form their study teams for the chapter. students will be challenged to work together as a team to consider the various inputs and outputs of composite functions.

Lesson 1.1.1 Resource Managers grab at least 2 textbooks for your team. Facilitators and Reporters/Recorders will share a book and Resource Managers and Task Managers will share a book. Facilitators get your teams started on problem 1-2 by reading the problem to your team or assigning someone to read. Make sure everyone understands what has to be done.

notes for everyone on your team. Facilitators lead your team in looking for the answers to the missing terms in Lesson 1.1.1 of your book.

Lesson 1.1.1 For problem 1-4, Resource Managers will have to come to
the teacher to collect the following materials: 1 set of three function machine cutouts 1 legal sized white paper 1 glue stick 1 Team Roles resource sheet Facilitators get your teams started on problem 1-4. Your final product should be a diagram (pasting the function machine cutouts on the paper) showing the correct order of the functions with the answers to questions b thru e.
