GENERAL RULES l USS Swimming Rules Apply –Except: l One false start is permitted l Two ESSL Certified Officials Must Be Present l Home Team Has Choice Of Lanes

HOST TEAM l Personnel: –Referee –Runners –Head Scorekeeper –Averager –ESSL Certified Coach l Equipment: –Backstroke Flags –False Start Rope –Finish Judge Papers –Seeding Area For Swimmers –Clipboards and Pencils For Timers –Starting System (When Available) –Score Sheets

VISITING TEAM l Personnel: –Starter –ESSL Certified Coach l Equipment: –Starter Pistol and Ammo –Score Sheets

HOST & VISITING TEAM l Personnel: –Timers –Scorekeepers –Ribbon Writers –Finish Judges –One or More Meet Marshals l Equipment: –Stop Watches –Award Ribbons

EVENTS AND ENTRIES l Dual Meet Event List –Swimmers are Permitted to Swim Up l Only the First Heat is Scored l Additional Exhibition Heats l Entry Cards –Blue for Boys (Eligible for Points) –Pink for Girls (Eligible for Points) –Yellow for Exhibition (Not Eligible for Points) –White for Relays (Eligible for Points)

EVENTS AND ENTRIES (CONT) l Maximum Entries –3 Events for Points l One Entry per Type of Stroke l Includes Freestyle Relay l Excludes Medley Relay

SCOREKEEPING l Each Team Must Call In the Score –To League Statistician –Within 24 hours l Scoresheeet Must Be Sent In –To League Statistician –Within One Week l Coversheet Must Be Signed –By Referee –By Starter –By Both Coaches

SCOREKEEPING (CONT) l Coversheet Must Be Sent In –To Mike Frank –Within One Week l Teams Using Team Manager –Send or E-mail data for each Meet l To Statistician

EXHIBITION SWIMMING l Any Swimmer Not Swimming for Score l Must Swim the Same Stroke and Distance l Times Count

SCORING l No Points for a D.Q. l No More Than Two Swimmers per Team May Score In Any Event l No More Than Two Relay Teams per Team May Score In Any Event l No Team is Permitted To Sweep an Event l Ribbons are Awarded Regardless Of A Sweep

SCORING (CONT) l Points –Individual l 1st Place - 5 Points l 2nd Place - 3 Points l 3rd Place - 1 Point –Relay l 1st Place - 10 Points l 2nd Place - 6 Points l 3rd Place - 2 Points

SCORING (CONT) l Full and Complete Names Must Be Written On Scoresheet –First and Last l Swimming Too Many Events –Scored In the Order Swum –All Excess Events Disqualified

NOT SWIMMING SCHEDULED MEETS l When it is decided that a meet cannot be held as scheduled, BOTH teams must notify the scheduling committee chairman immediately. There will be a $100.00 fine imposed per team for not adhering to this policy.

NOT SWIMMING SCHEDULED MEETS l The final decision for rescheduling a meet will be made by the scheduling chairman. Both teams will be sent a letter confirming the change. Any meet that is rescheduled without this letter will be considered a forfeit.

CHAMPIONSHIP l Any Time Earned at a Dual Meet Counts Towards Qualifying l Times Earned at Non-League Meets Count For Qualifying –Scoresheets must be Provided to League Statistician l Eligibility –Must Swim 3 Dual Meets –OR –Must Swim 2 Dual Meets and One Invitational
