Repeat Testing Overview
Calendar Year 2006 Data “Repeat Tester”-minimum of 2 negative tests in 12 month period. (Range was 2-7 visits) 68/116 (58.6%) testing sites reported at least one patient with a repeat test. Our Vision – Healthy Kansans living in safe and sustainable environments.

“Clinic hoppers” accounted for only 12 patients (0.9%) and less than 40 tests (1.3%). Chart audits were performed on patients at five sites with the highest number of repeat testers. The five sites accounted for 945/1349 total patients (70.0%). Our Vision – Healthy Kansans living in safe and sustainable environments.

836/945 (88.5%) charts have been reviewed to date. 146/836 (17.5%) patients with repeat testing had tests deemed appropriate by reviewers. Our Vision – Healthy Kansans living in safe and sustainable environments.

The majority of repeat testing appears to be a provider issue. The specific reason for repeat testing tended to be site specific “Clinic Hoppers” were not a major concern (this time) Our Vision – Healthy Kansans living in safe and sustainable environments.
