Discussion Question # 1 Sometimes, the most lasting life lessons emerge from tragedy. What have you learned from some personal hardship?

Discussion Question # 2 If you could make one change that would help stop the violence young people experience today, what would it be?

Discussion Question # 3 How have you dealt with anger toward friends who have let you down or turned their backs on you when you needed them most?

Discussion Question # 4 Is having a friend, parent or teacher to talk to about your worst traumas, fears, or frustrations helpful? Do you have someone you can talk to, someone who listens to you?

Discussion Question # 5 Identify different forms of violence, including emotional violence, such as name-calling and put-downs on religion, family, race, size, color or handicap.

Discussion Question # 6 Describe your experiences with teasing, rejection, bullying, or stereotyping.

Discussion Question # 7 Self doubt (I’m no good for anything; there’s no reason to live) visits most people at one time or another in their lives. How do you overcome self doubt?

Discussion Question # 8 Some students say we are a culture that tolerates only one way to “be in,” to be accepted, to be “cool.” Are we a culture that does not tolerate differences?
