2 PowerLogic systems help you control the cost, quality and reliability of your utilities
Since 1989, PowerLogic systems have helped customers improve productivity and profitability by helping them to …

3 PowerLogic systems help you… Measure and control energy costs
Verify utility bills; participate in utility rate reduction programs Reveal energy waste Verify savings resulting from equipment upgrades, energy efficiency programs, or performance contracts Perform demand and power factor control; reduce demand charges Allocate or sub-bill energy costs Measure all utilities (water, air, gas, electric, etc.) and optimize energy procurement Save 2-4% of utility bills, by knowing where and how energy is being used.

4 PowerLogic systems help you… Optimize equipment use
Prolong asset life by balancing loading, and measuring and reducing harmonics and other factors that cause heating and shorten equipment life Maximize the use of existing capacity and avoid unnecessary capital purchases by understanding loading and identifying spare capacity on existing equipment Save 2-5% on operating costs, by optimizing utilization and eliminating unnecessary equipment purchases.

5 PowerLogic systems help you… Improve power quality and reliability
Receive early warning of impending problems Accurately detect and capture magnitude and duration of power quality events Diagnose and isolate the cause of power-quality-related equipment or process problems Verify reliable operation of power distribution and mitigation equipment Proactively assess power quality trends and conditions to identify vulnerabilities Baseline power quality conditions and verify improvements as a result of equipment upgrades Save up to 10% or more in productivity and resources by improving power quality and reducing downtime.

6 PM700 series overview The PM700 series of power meters are compact power and energy meters. Apply on feeders where cost and installation space are important considerations. Install into new equipment or retrofit into existing installations.

7 The PowerLogic power monitoring family
CM4000 Apply to Critical Power Extensive Power Quality Transient Detection (CM4-T) Wave shape fault recording Variety of I/O options Highest revenue accuracy GPS time synchronization Functionality CM3000 Apply to Mains and Key Feeders Advanced Power Monitoring Power Quality with disturbance detection and 100 ms event recording Onboard data logging with 8 MB of memory Disturbance direction detection PM800 Apply to Mains and Feeders Comprehensive Power Metering Basic Power Quality Onboard data logging Compact Design Disturbance waveform Capture PM700 Apply to Feeders Power Metering Sub-metering / cost allocation THD monitoring

8 Part of a complete solution
PM700 series power meters can be used for standalone panel instrumentation, or as a key component in a complete PowerLogic power monitoring and control solution that provides transparent access to all of your intelligent devices. Software - System Manager Data Communications - EGX EGX Modems Intelligent Devices - Circuit monitors - Power meters - Low voltage breakers - Med voltage relays - Other Modbus devices Other compatible devices Energy and power quality meters and monitors Energy and power quality meters The PM710 and PM750 power meters’ have standard RS-485 Modbus communications, allowing you to view data in power monitoring software, or integrate data into Building Automation and SCADA systems. 9 Typical applications Energy/demand management
Low voltage panel instrumentation Cost allocation Machine monitoring

10 Feature Summary Four models satisfy a range of applications—from the PM700 for basic panel instrumentation, to the PM750 with standard RS-485 communications, I/O and alarming. PM700 PM700P PM710 PM750 Power Factor Absolute Signed 15 user-configurable alarms n Onboard digital I/O 2 out   2 in /1 out RS-485 Modus communication THD (voltage and current) Min/Max values with reset Basic metering (voltage, current, power, energy, demand, frequency, etc.) Accuracy Real Energy (IEC Class 1) IEC Class 05.S

11 Large, easy-to-read display
Backlit LCD display Anti-glare, scratch resistant Displays four values simultaneously; view three phases and neutral View summary screens and bar chart displays to see a snapshot of your system Intuitive, self-guiding menus are easy to use without training The power meter’s large, backlit display is easy to read.

12 External connections Power supply
Voltage Inputs — 480 VAC L-L direct connect; eliminates the need for PTs in most LV Panels Current inputs — rated at 15A, able to withstand overcurrents from CTs I/Os PM700P and PM750 RS wire Modus communications (PM710 and PM750 only) Communicate to System Manager software Integrate into BAS or SCADA systems Download firmware updates to keep up-to-date with the latest features

13 Compact design 96 x 96 x 50mm (depth behind panel)
Shallow depth saves panel space Flush panel mount with a 92 x 92mm cutout

14 Designed with the panel builders/OEMs in mind
Single person installation No tools required to mount the meter Mounting resistance nibs hold meter until the mounting clips are snapped into place Wide range control power supply 100 – 415 Vac (5 vA); 125 – 250 Vdc (3 watts) Reduces the number of models to order and stock

15 Accurate energy and power measurement
Full complement of basic metered values including: Voltage, per phase (L-L, L-N) and 3-phase average Current, per phase and neutral, and 3-phase average Energy (kWh, kVARh, kVAh) Power, per phase and 3-phase total (kW, kVA, kVAR) Power Demand, present, last, and peak (kWd, kVAd, kVARd) Current Demand, per phase, present and peak Frequency and Power factor (total) THD, per phase (voltage and current)

16 Accurate energy and power measurement (continued)
Minimum and maximum values Current and voltage, per phase Power (total) Power factor (total) Frequency THD, per phase (current and voltage)

17 Digital Inputs and Outputs
PM700P Two digital KY pulse outputs One kWH pulse output One kVARh pulse output

18 Digital Inputs and Outputs (continued)
PM750 2 digital inputs Use to monitor breaker status, or other status applications Demand Interval Synch – will end the power demand interval on the OFF to ON transition. 1 digital output configurable in one of three modes: External—Controlled externally, for example by a programmable controller. Alarm control—Controlled by the power meter in response to an alarm condition. When the alarm is active, the output is ON. kWh Pulse—The meter generates a fixed-duration pulse output that represents kWh consumption. The PM750’s digital output can be configured in one of three modes. With the two inputs of the PM750 you are able to know the status of other devices in the system, as for example Micrologic breakers. One of the inputs is used to know when the breaker is closed and the other to know when the breaker is opened. To be able to control breaker, the application requires two digital outputs. Therefore the PM750 is not suitable for those applications.

19 Customizable Alarming (PM750)
Fifteen user-configurable alarms Configurable: Pick up, drop out, and delay Alarms can be associated to I/O Trigger alarms in response to a change in input status Control an output in response to an alarm Alarms could be viewed in System Manager Software, provide early warning of potential problems. The PM750 does not include memory or alarm log, so when the PM750 looses control power, the alarms’ information is lost.

20 Easy to create a system... With the addition of an Ethernet Gateway, the meter can communicate via the existing network Create a simple system using a power meter, EGX400, and a PC with web browser software. View: Instantaneous readings of amps, voltage, power and energy I/O status Alarm status and history No special software to install PC with Browser EGX400 Gateway PM7
