Who we are… Platte County R-3 Maintain two campus areas - Located in the Kansas City and Platte City areas Total of 9 School Buildings Current Enrollment 4,500 25% Free and Reduced Lunch Graduating Class 250 Students Student Population African American 8.5% White 78.1% Hispanic 6.9% Other 6.5%

How were they determined and what does that look like?
Topic Studies Concept developed through the Professional Development Network Compass Classroom Teachers – Determined an area for personal growth Staff invited to learn alongside the CC Host Teacher Topic Study 2 day study with a focused topic with one to months between meetings 4 to 7 participants Study anchored around a professional text Participants observe CC Host Teacher teaching a lesson with the focus incorporated into lesson Collaboration throughout day on what the focus looks like in the classroom, sharing of own experiences and planning next steps in own classroom
