2 Figure 1 Negative feedback loop involving the growth promoters Yki and dMyc. dMyc is transcriptionally induced by Yki/Sd. The proto-oncoprotein dMyc keeps Yki levels in check, thereby limiting its own expression. The Hippo pathway controls Yki activity by countering its nuclear translocation. Thus, Hippo signaling and the negative feedback mediated by dMyc cooperate to prevent unrestricted growth caused by nuclear Yki.
